Our guest is still with us and she informed us that one of our old neighbors is going through a very difficult time. That has been weighing on my mind since she told us and today I felt as if I needed to make something to show our friend that we are here for her, no matter how far away.

Hi cinlorac! This isn’t a card. It is a mixed media painting on mat board. I used a gel medium for the base layer. I scraped the heart and swirl shapes in by hand and colored them later with ink. The heart is a piece of red tissue paper glued on and outlined with metallic paint. I glued a piece of jewelery above the heart and a metal key in the corner. The words were printed onto tissue paper and glued on. Then I coated the whole thing with a gloss varnish.
